A complete single dental implant — implant post, abutment and crown — costs ฿55,000 (about A$2,370) at Digital Dental Center Pattaya in 2026. The same treatment is commonly quoted at A$4,000–7,000+ in Australia. Treatment takes two short trips of 5–7 days each, around 3–4 months apart, and every implant comes with a written warranty: 10 years on the fixture, 5 years on the crown.
This page covers everything Australian patients ask us: exact prices in AUD, how to plan the two trips around annual leave, what the Thai visa rules actually allow (including long-stay options), how follow-up works once you are back home, and how to verify a Thai clinic before you book anything.
Dental Implant Prices for Australians — 2026
You pay in Thai baht; AUD figures are converted at approximately ฿1 ≈ A$0.043 (mid-2026, indicative only). International patients pay exactly the same prices as Thai patients — this is our public price list.
| Treatment | AUD (approx.) | THB (what you pay) | Typical Australian quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single implant, complete — post + abutment + crown | A$2,370 | ฿55,000 | A$4,000–7,000+ |
| Each additional implant, same trip (complete) | A$2,370 | ฿55,000 | A$4,000–7,000+ each |
| Straumann implant (Switzerland), complete | from A$3,230 | from ฿75,000 | A$5,000–7,500+ |
| Ceramic (zirconia) metal-free implant, complete | A$3,660 | ฿85,000 | A$6,000–8,000+ |
| All-on-4 full-arch implants (per arch) | from A$13,760 | from ฿320,000 | A$20,000–30,000+ |
Australian figures are approximate public ballparks for orientation; they vary by city and clinic. Your own price is fixed in a written, itemised quote after we review your X-ray — before you book a flight. Extras such as a sinus lift (฿25,000–40,000) or bone grafting are quoted in advance only if your CT scan shows you need them.
For the full cost breakdown — four currencies, what is and is not included, and a worked example of what an Australian patient really pays including flights and hotels — see our detailed dental implants Thailand cost guide.
What You Can Hold Us To
One price list for everyone
No “farang price”. Australian patients pay the same published prices as Thai patients, and your quote is itemised in writing before you travel — implant brand, what is included, and what is due at each stage.
Warranty in writing
Every implant carries a written warranty: 10 years on the implant fixture, 5 years on the crown, 2 years on a full-arch prosthesis. You receive the terms on paper, together with your implant brand and batch documentation.
English-speaking team on WhatsApp throughout
From your first X-ray review to your final check-up, you deal with the same English-speaking coordination team on WhatsApp — before, during and after your trips.
A real clinic at a real address
Digital Dental Center Pattaya, 212/7-8 Moo 9, Pattaya Sai 2 Road, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi 20150 — Thai Ministry of Public Health clinic license 20103002067. Look us up on Google Maps, check the license, and video-call us before you commit to anything.
Send Your X-ray — Get a Written Treatment Plan Before You Book Leave
The sensible first step costs nothing but a message: send your dental X-ray or OPG and we reply with a written treatment plan and an itemised quote within 1 business day — a no-obligation online consultation, before you commit to flights or leave dates.
- WhatsApp: wa.me/66946792939 — attach your X-ray or photos
- Email: digitaldentalpattaya@gmail.com
- Phone: 038 199 367 / 094-679-2939
No X-ray? Tell us your situation and send clear photos of your teeth — we will tell you what to get done locally (usually a single OPG, inexpensive at any Australian dental or radiology practice) so we can plan properly.
Why Australians Choose Pattaya
Thailand is the closest major dental-travel destination to Australia, and Pattaya is the easy version of it:
- Simple flights. Direct flights connect Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth with Bangkok — roughly nine hours from the east coast and around seven from Perth.
- Short transfer, no connecting flight. Pattaya is a 90-minute to two-hour road transfer from Bangkok’s airports. We can arrange your airport pickup so the trip is door-to-door.
- Minimal jet lag. Thailand is only three hours behind Sydney (four during daylight saving), so you lose no recovery days to time-zone adjustment on either end.
- A city built for international visitors. English is widely spoken, hotels at every budget sit within minutes of the clinic, and recovery days pass easily — beach walks, malls and quiet cafés rather than a hospital corridor.
- Costs stay low on the ground. A comfortable mid-range hotel runs about ฿1,500–2,500 (A$65–110) per night, so a 7-night treatment trip stays affordable even before treatment savings.
The Two-Trip Plan — Built Around Annual Leave
Standard implant treatment fits into two short trips, about one week each — most patients use one week of annual leave per trip, several months apart:
Trip 1 — implant placement (5–7 days): consultation and 3D CT scan on day one, fixed written quote, implant surgery (about an hour per implant), a healing check, then fly home. Most patients are comfortable sightseeing within a day or two of surgery.
At home in Australia — 3–4 months: the implant fuses with your bone. No appointments needed; we check in on WhatsApp.
Trip 2 — final crown (5–7 days): digital scan of the healed implant, your crown made and fitted, bite adjustment, written aftercare and warranty documents.
Some cases with good bone quality qualify for immediate-load protocols in a single longer trip — your CT scan on day one determines this, and we will tell you honestly if you are not a candidate.
Budget-wise, plan on roughly A$1,400 per trip for return economy flights, seven hotel nights and transfers (season-dependent). The honest arithmetic — including when a single implant is and is not worth the flight — is worked through line by line in the cost guide.
Long-Stay & DTV: What the Visa Rules Actually Allow
Verified against official Thai sources as of July 2026 — and one rule up front: we provide supporting documents only; every visa and extension decision rests with Thai Immigration or the Thai embassy.
- Standard treatment trips need no visa. Australian passport holders currently enter visa-exempt for up to 60 days (a reduction to 30 days has been approved but not yet gazetted — either way, our longest treatment trip is under 14 days, so both trips fit comfortably). Carry proof of onward travel and the usual entry funds (~฿20,000 per person).
- Two trips = two separate visa-exempt entries. Before you fly home from Trip 1, we issue an appointment confirmation letter for Trip 2 (dates, treatment stage, quote reference) — a supporting document to show immigration or your airline if asked on re-entry.
- Need a few extra days? If a lab schedule or healing check stretches your stay, a 30-day tourism extension is available at Jomtien Immigration in Chonburi (form TM.7, ฿1,900 fee) — no medical paperwork required.
- Staying longer, or planning treatment over 6+ months? The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV, medical pathway) suits patients — including retirees — who want a longer runway: a 5-year multiple-entry visa allowing stays of up to 180 days at a time. Requirements include savings of at least ฿500,000 and a letter of appointment from the treating medical centre. For treatment plans of six months or longer (staged implants, full-arch work), we can issue that appointment letter with your full treatment schedule as a supporting document for your application.
We will tell you which documents we can prepare for your specific plan when we send your quote — and we will never advise anything that does not match your genuine treatment purpose.
How Follow-Up Works Back in Australia
The most reasonable question about dental work abroad is “who looks after me afterwards?” Here is the actual arrangement:
- You fly home with complete documentation: a written treatment summary, your implant brand and batch numbers, X-rays, and your warranty terms — everything an Australian dentist needs to see exactly what was done.
- Your implant is serviceable in Australia. We place Osstem and Straumann systems — both used daily by Australian dentists — so compatible parts and expertise are available at home for the life of the implant.
- We stay reachable. Any concern, at any point: message the same WhatsApp thread with photos, and the treating dentist reviews it and advises you — usually the same day.
- The warranty is honoured in writing. If a fixture or crown fails within its warranty period, it is repaired or replaced at our clinic under the written terms you received before treatment.
Safety and Verification — Check Us (and Any Clinic) Properly
Implant treatment at Digital Dental Center Pattaya is led by Dr. Kasidit (Dr. Ken) — Diplomate & Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) — with restorations by Dr. Ying N. Sopaladawan — D.D.S. Chulalongkorn University, Postgraduate Mastership in Modern Aesthetic Dentistry (British Academy of Restorative Dentistry, UK), with advanced training in implant restoration and soft-tissue aesthetics at New York University (NYU, USA). Every case is planned on an in-house 3D CT scan before anything is scheduled.
You may have read warnings about dental work overseas — often published by dental clinics at home. The fair answer is that the risk is badly chosen clinics, not Thailand; the same checks protect you in either country:
| Common concern | The verifiable facts at our clinic |
|---|---|
| “Hidden costs will erase the savings” | Your quote is itemised and fixed in writing before you fly. ฿55,000 includes post, abutment and crown; extras like a sinus lift are named with prices in advance, only if your CT shows you need them. Payment is split into two phases matched to your two trips. |
| “Nobody is accountable if something goes wrong” | A written 10-year fixture / 5-year crown warranty, complete documentation for your Australian dentist, and a direct WhatsApp line to the treating dentist after you fly home. |
| “The materials will be no-name knock-offs” | Osstem and Straumann implant systems — the same hardware placed in Australian clinics — with the brand and batch numbers stated in your documents, not just verbally. |
| “I won’t understand what I’m agreeing to” | Quotes, consent forms, aftercare and warranty terms are in English, and an English-speaking coordinator is with you at every appointment. |
| “How do I know the clinic is even legitimate?” | Thai dentists are licensed by the Thai Dental Council and clinics by the Ministry of Public Health — our clinic license is 20103002067. Check the address (212/7-8 Moo 9, Pattaya Sai 2 Road) on Google Maps, and video-call us before booking anything. |
Apply the same checklist to any clinic you compare us with: named brands in writing, 3D CT planning, an itemised quote, warranty terms on paper, and a dentist whose credentials you can verify. Evasive answers to any of these are your cue to keep looking. The full checklist is in our complete dental implants in Pattaya guide.

Frequently Asked Questions — Australian Patients
How much do dental implants cost in Thailand compared with Australia?
A complete single implant — post, abutment and crown — costs ฿55,000 (about A$2,370) at our clinic in 2026, versus roughly A$4,000–7,000+ commonly quoted in Australia. A Straumann implant is from ฿75,000 (≈ A$3,230) and All-on-4 full-arch treatment from ฿320,000 per arch (≈ A$13,760), versus A$20,000–30,000+ per arch at home.
Is it safe for Australians to get dental implants in Thailand?
The honest answer: it depends on the clinic, exactly as it does in Australia. Thai dentists are licensed by the Thai Dental Council and clinics by the Ministry of Public Health (our license: 20103002067). Reputable Thai clinics use the same implant systems and 3D CT planning as Australian clinics. Protect yourself the same way anywhere: verify the license, get the implant brand and warranty in writing, and check the treating dentist’s credentials — ours are published on this page.
Is it worth going to Thailand for just one implant?
Often not purely on the numbers — and we would rather tell you that upfront. With flights and hotels for two trips, a single implant totals roughly A$5,200 all-in, which lands within the range of many Australian quotes. It stacks up if your local quote is at the high end, or if you were coming to Thailand anyway. From two implants up — and especially for full-arch work — the savings are clear even with all travel paid.
How long do I need to stay in Thailand for dental implants?
Two trips of 5–7 days each: implant placement on the first trip, the final crown on the second, with 3–4 months of healing at home in between — no appointments needed during the gap. Some patients with good bone quality qualify for an immediate-load protocol in one longer trip; the CT scan on day one determines this.
Do Australians need a visa for a dental treatment trip to Thailand?
For standard treatment trips, no visa is required — Australian passport holders currently enter visa-exempt for up to 60 days per entry (a reduction to 30 days has been approved but not yet in force; our trips are under 14 days, so both cases fit). Each of your two trips is a separate visa-exempt entry, and we issue an appointment confirmation letter for your return trip. For long-stay plans there are extension and DTV pathways — see the visa section above. We provide supporting documents only; decisions rest with Thai Immigration or your embassy.
Can I claim Thai dental treatment through my health fund or superannuation?
We cannot give financial or insurance advice. Some Australian extras policies pay benefits toward major dental, but whether a fund pays anything for treatment performed overseas varies by fund and policy — check directly with your fund before you book. We provide itemised English receipts and a full treatment summary to support any enquiry. For questions about accessing superannuation for dental treatment, speak to your fund or a licensed adviser.
What happens if I have a problem after I’m back in Australia?
Message the same WhatsApp thread with photos and the treating dentist reviews it, usually the same day. You fly home with your implant brand, batch numbers and X-rays, so any Australian dentist can examine and service the implant — Osstem and Straumann parts are available in Australia. If a fixture or crown fails within its written warranty period (10 years / 5 years), it is repaired or replaced at our clinic under those terms.
Which implant brands do you use?
Osstem (South Korea) for our ฿55,000 complete implant — Asia’s largest implant manufacturer, with parts available worldwide — and Straumann (Switzerland) from ฿75,000 for patients who want the most extensively researched system. A metal-free ceramic (zirconia) option is ฿85,000. Your brand and batch documentation is provided in writing. More detail: dental implant brands.
